This is another figure I bought to have NPCs for games. He reminds me of Edward Blake, the Comedian in the Watchmen movie.
Karl Holzhauer was created for my first Warhammer Fantasy Role Playing character. He is also my first conversion, combining Warhammer Orc parts, a Khorne Bloodletter axe, and some other bits. Of course, his most distinguishing features, aside from his muscles, is his nose. Karl came from a family of woodsmen in western Ostermark. When the region was overrun by beastmen, Karl became a mercenary before taking up the adventuring life.
I wanted him to look dirty and battle worn. Using several layers if wash, I managed to create the appearance of scars and perhaps a “unique skin condition.”
I recently read the Hangman’s Daughter trilogy by Oliver Pötzsch. When I was reading them, I pictured Jakob Kuisl looking like Karl.
